Security advisory: Fraudulent phone calls impersonating Prosper

Bad actors are illegally impersonating Prosper through automated phone calls, offering cash in exchange for personal and banking details.


Please be aware: Prosper is not making these calls.

What to know

  1. Prosper will never make unsolicited calls asking for sensitive financial details, passwords, or account credentials.
  2. Prosper will never offer money in exchange for your personal data.

What you should do

  • Hang up immediately if you receive one of these calls.
  • Do not share personal, financial, or banking details over the phone.
  • Report the call to local law enforcement and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
